  • Seems live streaming of the Louis Vuitton Pacific Cup, even in 3D virtual format is only available live to people in NZ. What a wasted opp! #

  • Wonder how long it will take for the new America’s Cup boat to appear in Virtual Skipper 5. #
  • Wondering if the strike against foreign workers will extend to Aussies in London. Or is it just some foreigners? #
  • Waiting half an hour and then some for a district line train to Richmond. Wondering how they justify fare increases. No info or apology. #
  • Americas Cup 33 Design Rule published. http://is.gd/hOpk #

  • @Alfie Perhaps the 3 strands of user created media dna are ASL – in which case your phrase would be partially true. in reply to Alfie #

  • Twitterings for the Louis Vuitton Pacific Series mainly out of New Zealand. Usual suspects. Hopefully the sailing world will wake up soon. #

  • Oh. For those of you wonderinh who Anna is? She was a guest of Christina at the little ship club. #
  • I am having dinner with Anna at the little ship club. #
  • Is off to drop in on the ‘little ship club’ and catch up with a few folk. #
  • You’d think that in the year 2009 people would understand the difference between cc and bcc on a mass email. #
  • I used to like Expedia. It used to work. I haven’t had a seamless error free booking for ages. Time for a new travel partner I think. #
  • Testing an auto-tagging plugin for wordpress, but it doesn’t work too well. Some things humans still do better than machines. #

  • @Allix I know. As a once travel writer I’ve debated the pros and cons often. Personally still on the fence. The theme is a good one though. #
  • @Allix I’ve got some friends who would be up for those walks. But there might be some mp3 tours about on that theme. Gets rid of the guide. in reply to Allix #
  • Anyone know how to password protect a self-hosted wordpress blog? #
  • Slowly moving sites over to Wordpress 2.7 – seems to be working okay so far. #

  • Red lanterns in chinatown lloks great #
  • Going to write today off. Some japanese food and a movie I think. #
  • So. Bluehost is up again – for some. But now another problem on my box. No ETA. Total downtime today 7.5 hours. #
  • Server status at Bluehost says all okay but site still timing out. Wasted day. 3 projects that have hosted CMS with no work done. #
  • Seems Bluehost would do well to use twitter to communicate their problems. Would get rid of the 52 people waiting on hold. #
  • Some say that all applications will run in the cloud. But days like today, when a server goes down for over 5 hours suggests otherwise. #
  • @rscibetti Could be. Try this link http://serverstatus.bluehost.com/ in reply to rscibetti #
  • Bluehost Update: “Heat issues in H – Shutting down server until this is taken care of.” Not really useful. #
  • @ThierryRoget Actually I have been pretty impressed, this is the first time I have had problems in a year. in reply to ThierryRoget #
  • Bluehost server down – all my websites and mail not working. Grrr.. has been an hour and a half already. #

Twitter Updates for 2009-01-22

Posted By admin on January 22nd, 2009
  • Catching up on taped episodes of jon Stewart. Its been too long. Hope he can be funny in a non-bush world. #
  • Audi med cup 2009 dates announced. See @yachtbusiness tomorrow for details. #
  • Is going to unfollow anyone on twitter who repeats information without stopping to ask ‘is that actually compete bollocks?’ #
  • Have decided that social media is just media. In some cases worse. Some old media still checks facts before sending news into the universe. #
  • Traveller tip. Dusseldorf airport charges 1 euro for clear plastic bags to get your liquids through security. Seems pricey. #
  • Ishares cup dates announced. Kind of. Keep a lookout over the next day or so. #
  • Is done with boats for today. Happy though. Background all done for @darkbluebook – next week will be intense. #
  • Ok. So I love boats with sails, but ribs get cooler day by day #
  • Surprised that puma are not activating their Volvo ocean race sponsorship at boot.de – well they might be, but not that I can see so far. #
  • Spotted. A yache with manufacturer sponsorship livery. Dufour getting the message. Racing sells crusing boats. #
  • Ysa yacht design ‘black pearl’ made entirely of black carbon fibre. Beautiful, but must be as slippery as anything when wet. #
  • Boot.de sailing hall has more racing yachts than London including the enigma 34 and a canting keel sport boat #
  • Pretty impressived to see the stp65 ‘container’ out of the water in hall 17 of boot.de #
  • Well there may be a recession and there may not be many visitors right now, but anyone who says this is a poor industry is deluded. #
  • Is off to Boot.de with @yachtbusiness and @darkbluebook. Will be interesting to compare to recent Paris and London shows. #
  • @amcup ‘Coutts recruited by Team Oracle?’ How old is this story? Several years? in reply to amcup #
  • Nice to have the time for a proper breakfast. Helps when it is all laid out and all you have to do is choose and eat. #
